HL Registration and Start of Season

Open registration for Initiation (2008) through Minor Midget (1997) aged players March 24th through August 15th.

Players who register prior to August 15th, and Midget/Juvenile aged players born 1993-1996 prior to September 1st, will be guaranteed a spot at the early registration price of $515.  Any registrations after the above noted dates will be at the full registration price of $615.

Players who attempt to register after a division is full will be placed on The Placement List, and in sequence, assigned to a team on a first-come, first-serve basis based on availability.

Returning players must register online through WMHA the Hockey Canada Registration System (HCR) leveraging the member-defined account created last season (same username/email and password).

Any NEW to WMHA players must register in-person and/or complete the “Moving to Whitby” documents located on www.whitbyhockey.com prior to attending a registration session.  Unless you have an email saying your move has been processed, do not attend the registration session.

The House League season begins in mid- to late September for all age divisions, with the exception of Mid-Juv players who will start toward the end of September.  PLEASE NOTE: there may be some divisions who commence in early September for player evaluations, etc.

The Placement List

All players to Whitby Minor Hockey who have missed all registration sessions can fill complete their information on The Placement List located on our website. You will be contacted with details around an in-person registration event.  Unless the division is full, you will be able to register for the 2012/13 season.

Three Year Old Player Eligibility

WMHA will accept up to 30-players turning three (3) January 1st to July 31st 2009.  These players will be put on a waiting list until players 4 and up are placed and at that time remaining 3-year old players will be placed in available spots.

About Online Registration

WMHA continues to use the Hockey Canada Registration system.  Last season members created accounts accessed by an email address and password and completed all their family and player information in order to register and pay for players online.

This was an email and password created by users directly in the Hockey Canada Registry.  If you are unable to locate your username, please complete the form located on our website entitled “HCR Username Search”.  Once submitted, you will receive a follow up within two (2) business days with your information.

As previously registered members of WMHA, your information will be available in the system.  You will simply be required to search for your player’s information using last name [legal name] and date of birth to be able to register and complete your transaction to register for WMHA.

If existing WMHA players cannot be found in the HCR, please send an email to inquiries@whitbyhockey.com with the player name, DOB and scanned copy of Birth Certificate.  This will allow us to search the master database, identify the missing information and work with OMHA to correct the issue in a timely manner to register your player.

Registration Rates for the 2012-13 Season:

For Player Registration, payments can be made online through the Hockey Canada Registration system.

For Rep Tryout Passports, payments can be made through WMHA online passport purchasing utility using Credit Card ONLY (Visa or MasterCard).

In-person payment in the WMHA Hockey Office may be arranged for Credit Card or Debit Card transactions ONLY.

IMPORTANT: Cash and/or personal cheques will NOT be accepted.

Registrations received after August 16th may experience a delay in being placed on a team, and may not receive notification by the first weekend of hockey.

In Person Registration – New Accounts

If you have not registered with Whitby Hockey previously, you must attend an in person registration event on one of the below dates/times:

Additional in-person dates may be added throughout the summer as well as during hockey office hours so please check www.whitbyhockey.com periodically for updates.

All new registrants must provide copy of proof of player age (birth certificate) as well as residency.

Player Tryouts for Rep

All players, including Midget, attending tryouts must be registered and purchased a Tryout Passport prior to attending the tryout.

2012-13 REFUND POLICY

Refunds will be granted from the earlier of  a) the date that a written request for a refund is received by the Association, or b) the date that a player’s injury or medical condition prohibits a player from playing (doctor’s letter will be required). Please refer to the chart below.

Any request arising as a result of an injury that prohibits a player from playing must be submitted within 30-days of the date of the injury.

Refunds will not be granted for games lost due to injuries, illnesses or otherwise.

Registration refunds will generally be granted according to the following.

Note: ALL refunds will be subject to a $55 administration fee.

Example:  If registration fee paid is $515 less Administration fee of $55 = $460

• Up to August 15:  $460
• Up to September 14:  $410
• Up to October 12:  $360
• Up to November 16:  $265

No refunds will be granted after November 16.

Dates are based on the date the request form is submitted.

Refunds will be processed monthly.

*Any player who attends representative team tryouts during the spring tryout period and is not selected to a representative team who does not desire to play in the WMHA House League must apply for their registration refund prior to August 15th or no refund will be considered.

*Any Midget player who attends representative team tryouts and is not selected to a representative team who does not desire to play in the WMHA House League must apply for their registration refund by September 14th or no refund will be considered.

False Residency Claims will result in forfeiture of full registration fees.
