2009 Second Annual Whitby House League Holiday Classic Tournament

Over the holiday break, the Whitby Minor Hockey Association will be hosting the Second Annual Whitby House League Holiday Classic Tournament.  The tournament will run over the period Monday December 28th to Wednesday December 30th with all teams playing a minimum of 3 games over the Monday and Tuesday time period, and teams advancing to the finals playing on Wednesday as well.  This is a no body checking tournament and the entry cost is only $500 per team.

With the Whitby Minor Hockey Association having moved to a tiered program this season, we are tiering our tournament as well.  Depending on interest from the teams in Whitby and teams from other centres, we plan to offer the following divisions:

• Novice – an upper tier and a lower tier division
• Minor Atom – an upper tier and a lower tier division
• Atom – an upper tier and a lower tier division
• Minor Peewee – an upper tier and a lower tier division
• Peewee – an upper tier and a lower tier division
• Minor Bantam – an upper tier and a lower tier division
• Bantam – only one division as the WMHA has not tiered our Bantams

Teams coming from centres without tiering will NOT be placed in the upper tiers unless specifically requested.

House league teams from the OMHA and from outside the OMHA are welcome to apply.  Please note that all teams will be required to present an official roster and that only players listed on that roster are eligible to play.  All teams from centres outside the OMHA will be required to also provide a travel permit issued by their association.

The schedules are currently being finalized, so we hope to have the updated rules and schedules posted shortly.
