The House League Select Pilot has been underway since October and we are happy to report that it has been a resounding success. WMHA created 3 teams at the Atom, Peewee and Bantam age groups to compete with other select teams.

WMHA recently held its 5th Annual Holiday Classic House League tournament with over 50 teams competing. Teams from across the Durham Region plus teams from Barrie and Oakville hit the ice at Iroquois Park.

 As a follow up to an earlier communication and much planning, WMHA has decided to move forward with the Pilot Program for three House League Select Teams. As this is a pilot, head coaches have been selected for these teams and they have been instrumental in helping us define and plan for this program over the last several months.

Thank you to all the players, families and volunteers that came out to the arena this weekend! Now that evaluation weekend is complete teams will start to be constructed, bench staff finalized and the season will get underway. Players will be contacted via email or phone from their coaches the week of September 17th and will begin ice times the weekend of September 22nd (note: Minor Midget & Mid-Juv will start around Thanksgiving).

The deadline to register for the 2012/2013 HL season has passed, however you may still be able register, space is still available in most of our divisions. Please add your name to the waiting list with all the information requested and WMHA will contact you with instruction on how you can register if space is still available in your division. |
