2017 WMHA AGM:  Proposed By-Law's & Nominees

In accordance with our currently by-law's, attached are the proposed by-law amendments that will be reviewed and voted upon at the annual AGM on June 5th.

Annual General Meeting

Will be Held: Monday, June 5th, 2017 - 7:00pm

Location: Multi-purpose Room – Abilities Center – 
55 Gordon Street,
Whitby, Ontario L1N 0J2

Agenda to Include:

  • Approval of the minutes of the previous year special general and annual general meeting of the Membership;
  • Receiving reports of the activities of the Association during the preceding year;
  • Receiving information regarding the planned activities of the Association for the current year;
  • Receiving and approving the report of the Auditor of the Association from the previous year and a projected financial position for the current year;
  • Appointment of the Auditor for the ensuing year;
  • Consideration of any proposed amendments to the By-laws of the Association;
  • Election of the new Board; and
  • Any related new business.
This year we have eligible openings on the board of directors.  We would like to thank Robert Keast, Jose Camacho, Paul Frizado, Nora Burns, Randy Ling, Jeremy Lane, Bill Sandiford, Matt Evans and Yvonne Zee for their countless hours of volunteering for this association. With their leadership and ongoing support we successfully placed over 2500 kids on the ice.    
 
With these changes comes an exciting time for old board members and new board members to bring different perspectives together.  We are happy to announce the following list of 19 nominees for this years election.

  • Please note: All nominees must be in attendance at the Annual General Meeting to stand for or decline nomination.  Each member attending is entitled to one vote.  Proxies will not be permitted.
     
    The successful candidates will not be announced until after the proposed bylaw changes have been passed.  As such we ask that everyone remain to vote for the proposed changes to the bylaws.
