Bell Capital Cup Champions!!
The Minor Atom AAA team travelled to Ottawa to participate
in the Bell Capital Cup on Dec 29 - 31 and managed to depart the capital as
Champions! During round robin play the team went 3-1 out scoring the
opposition 18-4 while recording two shut-outs.
At the semi-final game the team won a hard-fought,
inspirational game against a team from New Jersey to clinch a berth into the
final game held at the Canadian Tire Center, home to the Ottawa Senators.
In the final game the boys managed to play through all the excitement of being on the Sens ice, getting dressed in an NHL locker room, and followed up with the playing of the Canadian National Anthem to pull out a 1-0 win over the Burlington Eagles.
Congratulations to all the boys on a job very well done and a great experience.
