Eagles Get Back in the Win Column After Lengthy Break
The Eagles defeated Team 11 7-3 early Sunday morning in a game that was closer than the score indicated.

The two week layoff showed in the Eagles practice on Saturday but all hands were on deck for their first game since the break.  After getting behind 1-0, the Eagles stormed back with 3 goals.  Noa G. got the scoring started to tie the game at one.  Shortly thereafter, Bradley J. gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead to end the first period and then scored his second tally of the game for a 3-1 lead at the end of a defensive minded 2nd period.  Team 11 came back to make it 3-2 early in the third but that was as close as they would get as the Eagles put their game into another gear and scored another 4 goals led by, player of the game, Ashton B’s two markers.  Ashton made it 4-2, 8 minutes into the 3rd period and just 90 seconds later Dylan T. made it 5-2.  After Team 11 made it 5-3,  Ashton B. scored his 2nd goal, which belongs in the highlight reel category, as he gathered the puck in his own end, avoided checks from two Team 11 players, and finished off the end-to end rush with a shot that beat Team 11 goalie glove side.  Quinn P. iced the game for good, with a one timer from the slot, giving the Eagles their 7th goal and 4th in the 3rd period.  As mentioned previously, Ashton B. won the player of the game (“with that goal alone” said Coach Wilson) and took home the Eagles cup for the week.

The Eagles look to string two wins together next Sunday Dec 21st at 8:15am on IPSC 2 against Team 7.  Hope to see you there.
