The
Eagles settled for a 2-2 draw in their first game after the Christmas "break" on Sunday morning at Iroquois #2.
After a scoreless 1st period Team 8 opened the scoring off a rebound at 7:57 of the 2nd Period. The Eagles quickly replied at 7:24 as Christian L. corralled a rebound and went top-shelf to tie the game at 1. Christian gave the Eagles the lead in the 3rd period with a nice shot after walking in from the corner. The Eagles were poised for victory but within the last minute of play Team 08, with their goalie pulled, were able to intercept a clearing attempt as their player walked in alone to tie the game at 2 where it ultimately ended.
Coach Todd liked how his team carried the play but “we had a hard time hitting the net”.
Quinn Pile was awarded the Eagles Cups for his hard work and smart play at both ends of the ice.
The Eagles have the upcoming weekend off before they return to action with back to back games Saturday against Team 12 at McKinney Icepad 1 at 8:15am and Sunday against Team 10 on Icepad 3 at Iroquois. Hope to see you there
