Rockets Play Hard in Playoff Battle
Whitby, ON - in a game where the Rockets again showed they can play with the best, this game was another nail biter for this upstart group of players.

The Rockets took to the ice on Sunday to take on the number one team through the regular season in a solid playoff battle. While the score showed a victory for the Crushers, your Rockets dominated the play for the majority of the game sending wave after wave at the Crushers net. The Crushers Goalie stood up to the pressure however and played a stellar game for that team.
With some defensive adjustments the Rockets managed to hold at bay the majority of the oppositions attack however some timely play by Crushers forwards was the difference on this day.
With R. Olmstead backstopping the Rockets some solid performances were turned in by your defense G. Gummow, J. Alcido, D. Cairns and C. Smith.
N. Clancy had yet another strong game with T.O'Donnell and G. Brisbois in support. This line had numerous chances to draw this game even but the Crusher D stood tall - at one point Rocket coaches thought that we were watching a tennis match with pucks flying back and forth in front of the Crushers goal.
K. Boyd had another great game and got a pat on the back for his solid back checking  from the Rockets bench staff. With A. Orlandi and R. Cukoff complimenting the wings this line had a number of solid chances resulting in a Cukoff goal - something he was very proud of. Orlandi dug hard in the corners and battled the Crusher forecheck.
J. George was impressive in this contest looking after both ends of the ice, creating some offensive flash and even came back to help out the defense in the latter stages of the game - supported by D.Davidson and M. Fox this line got into it and created some havoc in the Crushers zone. It was a solid team effort by your Rocket's and the coaching staff believes that if we stay the course something special is going to happen.
Rockets get back at it with the last practice of the season 6am IPSC (5) on Saturday and an 815 am game Sunday (IPSC 2).
