CRUSHERS Play Strong in New Positions
Aussie makes big saves to support depleted roster.

It was Aussie's turn in the rotation in goal as Martin (also goalie) played a very cerebral and well executed wing. Coach Stapley commented that, "With Martin's defensive skills and positional play, coupled with Aussie's calculating toe saves...they gave our team the confidence they needed."
The EAGLES and CRUSHERS were battling every shift and numerous chances were exchanged at both ends of the Coliseum we call Pad 3. The CRUSHERS were down 2 solid performers from the start as they were sent to the Dominican for some pre-playoff R&R. Then in the third frame Martin became ill and had to leave the game. This left the Defense Coach, Cuddy and the Forward Coach Sharland juggling the lines like BoBo the Clown in the centre ring.
The CRUSHERS came together, adjusted and stuck to their new positions and old game plan. Very impressive determination and defensive responsibility was displayed by Sharland and Richards. They were so good that they gave themselves some great offensive opportunities. George and Fitzpatrick were working the slot well and came back to support their own end relentlessly. Cuddy had many great moves and breaks throughout the game and showed why he is one of the premier offensive defensemen in the league. Delvecchio, who rushed the puck and completed his end to end rush by capitalizing on his own rebound has proven to be a great addition to the CRUSHERS at the trade deadline. Xiao and Chung angled their offensive threats like precision by guiding them into the non-threatening corners. Stapley had another strong game with some nifty moves that proved to pay off when his high shot converted to a rebound to score the third goal.
Trainer George was heard mentioning that, " The game was so filled with emotion and drama that I am reminded of my teenage years when I was addicted to The Young and the Restless and Guiding Light."
Great outing CRUSHERS
