Midget-Juvenile Team 6- Tournament Champions!!The Whitby Midget-Juvenile, Team 6, won the Oshawa Christmas Tournament over the break, December 27-30, 2014. The team took home Gold after an exciting and competitive round robin points system.
During round robin play, the team went 2 and 1, beating Mackenzie Park 3-1 on Day One. Day two was a tough loss to Albert Street, 3-2, giving up two late goals while playing with a very short bench. Day Three saw a better result for Whitby, as they played the undefeated Woodview Park and with some timely goals, managed to win 3-1.
This set up a Gold Medal rematch with the same Woodview Park and although giving up an early goal 24 seconds into the game, the Team rebounded and tied the score before the end of the first period. Whitby then exploded in the second, scoring three goals in a span of 1:14 to create a huge margin. The third period saw the teams exchange goals and Whitby sealed the win, winning the Final 5-2.
