Team #6, "Warriors," started the day with 5 absent players. With a goalie and 9 skaters, it looked like it could be a true test of endurance.
The Warriors held their own defensively and drove the puck to the net, taking an early lead.
Tristan Terry demonstrated his prowess between the pipes and made several fantastic saves.
Axel Baker, Tyler McVeigh, Jack Cowan-Brokenshire, Colin Sproule, Gavin Braithwaite and Ryan Marsh dominated the neutral zone while Oliver Christie and Tanner Kerr's offensive rushes kept the score in our favour.
Passing leaders today were Oliver C, Colin S, Ryan M, with Tanner K topping the pack. Jacob Bridgeman assisted on 2 of Tanner K's goals and in the play of the day, Tanner K returned the favour by feeding Jacob B a leading pass up through the centre of the neutral zone, creating a breakaway where Jacob B scored his first goal in his first season of hockey!
After a round of high-5's, it was truly inspiring to have Tanner K skate over to the bench and say "Coach... did you see me help Jacob get his first goal?" I sure did... and that's the stuff every game should be made of.
