Select 6 Team 2 Wins Brampton Tournament
The Whitby Wildcats Select 6 Team 2 struck Gold this past Sunday!

This talented and hard working group of six-year-olds won the 25th annual Bob Giroux Memorial Tournament in Brampton.

After defeating Caledon in the semi-finals 5-2 on Saturday afternoon, the Wildcats faced the Ajax Knights in the Championship game Sunday.  Whitby was in for a tough game as Ajax had defeated them 5-4 in the round robin.  The determined Wildcats would not be denied. Tough forechecking, solid defence, and lights-out goaltending proved too much for the Knights as the Wildcats won the hard fought game 2-0.

Coaches Curran, Kennedy, and Estabrooks are proud of how far this group has come in two short months.  Trainers Nash and Lynch did a great job preparing the boys for each game and provided solid treatment to injured players.  Thanks to the parents for loudly cheering on the team from the stands.  Congratulations to all 16 players on winning their first competitive hockey tournament Championship.  Hopefully many more gold medals to come!
