Winners of the 2017 Peter Mancuso Memorial Tournament!
The Peewee A Blue team travelled to Niagara Falls this past weekend to
participate in the Peter Mancuso Memorial Tournament.
On Friday, the boys played the Pickering Panthers (1-0) and the Toronto East Enders (3-0) followed by a Saturday night game against the Newmarket Redman. The boys battled hard in a very physical game to win against Newmarket 4 – 3. The 6 points secured a spot in the semifinals against the Hespeler Shamrocks.
In the semifinal Hespeler scored first but that would be their only goal as Whitby answered with 4 goals to win the game 4 -1. The semifinal win had the boys facing Vaughn in the championship game. It was a back and forth game with Whitby leading 2 – 1 until the final 2 minutes when Vaughn was able to score and tie the game. Whitby scored the winning goal during the first 90 seconds of the game!
Congratulations to Josh, Alex, Ashwin, Dylan, Connor, Nathan, Matthew, Ethan, Kyle, Tate, Isaac, Luke, Mitchell, Jordan R, Logan, Jake, and Jordan B for their hard work all weekend!
