Rockets Fight Hard On the Weekend
Whitby ON - The Rockets had a couple of tough divisional opponents this past weekend and managed to play well enough on Sunday for a tie following a heart breaker on Saturday.
R. Olmstead played two solid games in the cage for the Rockets and our offence was clicking for both games. Saturdays affair against the Tigers was a see saw battle with the Tigers coming on strong in the third and eventually netting the game winner. T. O'Donnel had a great two way game and the defense added some punch with J.George and C.Smith helping out the attack. D. Cairns had a great game going and was everywhere in the third.
Sunday's game was just as exciting as the Rocket's coaching staff shook up the lines and positions which resulted in a very entertaining back and forth game with the Eagles. The Rockets battled hard and Rockets forward D.Davidson managed to tie the score with a minute left in the game earning the Rockets a well deserved point. The story of the second game was the defensive play of Rockets R.Cukoff, A. Orlandi, J. Alcido and M. Fox. All four got a well deserved locker room cheer from their Rockets teammates for their phenomenal play. Supported with some solid back checking from the Forward core this game was textbook Rocket hockey. Rockets are back on the ice with a 615am practice Saturday (IPSC 5) and a date with team 11 at 915am Sunday at (IPSC2). Go Rockets!!!!
