Jonah was a part of the Whitby Minor Hockey Association from 2005, when he played U7 house league, until 2014. During the 2013-2014 season, Jonah helped lead the Wildcats to an OMHA AAA Minor Midget Gold Medal. He was then drafted 39th overall by the Owen Sound Attack in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection and went on to be named to the OHL Second All Star Team in 2016-17, when he recorded 46 goals and 28 assists for 74 points in 60 games. In 2017 Jonah was drafted 55th overall to the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL Draft, and then won World Junior Championship gold in 2018. Most recently, Jonah won the Stanley Cup with the Florida Panthers in 2024.
