U14 A White – Bob Verwey
Bob has been coaching minor hockey in Whitby for six years, including multiple seasons as a rep head coach for both boys and girls in the Whitby Minor Hockey Association. A D1-certified coach, Bob is committed to fostering a fair and healthy environment where players develop not only their hockey skills but also important life skills. He emphasizes hard work, determination, and teamwork, with a strong focus on defensive responsibility while maintaining offensive pressure. Bob looks for players who are willing to play a physical yet smart game, put in extra effort, and continuously improve. His goal is to help athletes grow both on and off the ice, preparing them for success in hockey and beyond.
U14 A Blue – Mike Lucenti
Mike will be entering his second season as a Head Coach with Whitby Minor Hockey and has more than five years' experience having been an assistant coach at u10 in the English Ice Hockey Association from 2018-21. He is D1 Certified and emphasizes a high compete/high pace level of play. Mike is passionate about developing young athletes both on and off the ice; providing an inclusive program to maximize individual development and team success. Mike played AAA with the North Bay Trappers minor hockey organization before spending 3 years in Junior A, followed by a 4 year NCAA D3 collegiate career with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
