U16BB – Mike Gillespie
Mike's career as a hockey player spans over three decades, during which he has specialized as a goalie. This experience provides unique insights into the intricacies of the game and the challenges faced by players. His understanding of the mental and physical demands placed upon young players has shaped his coaching approach to be supportive and tailored to individual needs. In addition to his playing experience, Mike has dedicated over nine years to coaching various sports, including hockey, lacrosse, and baseball. For the 2023/24 season and the 2024/25 season he has coached the U13 & U14 Select Teams for the Whitby Wildcats. Mike transitioned into the head coach for the U15 BB team during the 2025/26 season. They have had a successful season and look forward to success in the playoffs. Mike's diverse coaching background, combined with his ability to communicate effectively and strategize, brings a versatile skill set to the team.
