Minor PeeWee, 2015-2016, AA (Whitby Minor Hockey)

It was the thing that hockey dreams are made of…the seconds counting down as the third period comes to an end…and the celebrations begin!   The team that found that extra gear as playoffs began had carried it through to the ultimate end – winning the OMHA Championship and the coveted Red Hat!  The Minor Peewee AA team had experienced some success in the first half of the season, winning 2 tournaments, but had all eyes on their end goal of winning the OMHA’s.  They hit the ice flying in 2016, going undefeated in all but 1 of their final 24 games of the year, including going undefeated in 15 ...

The Minor Peewee AA team took gold in their second consecutive tournament after a thrilling overtime win at the Scotiabank Cup this past weekend.  The boys played 3 hard fought games in the round robin, and overcame a come-from-behind tie in regulation to win the semi-final in overtime, before seeing their hard work and perseverance pay off in a stunning overtime win against the Ted Reeve Thunder in the final. Congratulations to the Team and Coaches on a very exciting weekend and fantastic win!!

The Minor Peewee AA team brought home their first tournament gold of the season this past weekend, winning the Richmond Hill Early Bird tournament. The team went undefeated on their way to the final - a nail-biter with Streetville as both teams were shut down until midway through the third when Whitby was finally able to beat the tough Streetsville defense to give Whitby the win!   Congratulations to all the boys and coaches on a great start to the season!
