We have our "adopt a family for Christmas" details through St Mark's United Church, Whitby.
The Boys Team Shop for our family, will be Tuesday Dec 8th at Walmart on Baldwin/Taunton at 5:30pm (Food Entrance)
We all look forward to this every year. It's such a nice feeling to know there is a family out there, having a wonderful Christmas, with our help :)
Shopping Nights Details;:
We spilt the boys up into teams with lists of food & family needs - Brandy will provide a list for each team. Once shopping is done, Our Elf Shopper Volunteers, with the boys, will then head up to Coach Wayne’s for some food & fun.
Our Boys have enjoyed taking part in the festivities by buying the groceries, selecting toys for kids and gifts for the parents. When we finish shopping we bring the boys back to see all the goodies put together to show what their contributions have added up to, giving them a real sense of the meaning of Christmas – Giving to those in need.
This is how it works:
1. We collect money - Due Nov 30th ($25 per family)
2. We shop - December 8th –
3. We Celebrate – @ Coach Wayne & Theresa’s so the boys can see everything
4. We Eat – Nacho & Pizza Dinner @ Coach Wayne & Theresa’s
5. We Sleep – Parent pick up @ 9:30pm
6. We Give* – Gift Drop off Dec 14th (Volunteers needed to help Brandy bring gifts down to the church)
We also need
unopened wrapping paper, ribbons, bows, tape and tags so the parents take part in the joy of wrapping these gifts up for their children :)
