Team 03, Minor Peewee, 2019-2020 (Whitby Minor Hockey)

Thanks for a great season everyone. It is unfortunate that it ended the way that it did but safety and the health of our hockey family will always come first. We finished with the best record in the playoffs after a FULL round robin. I would say that makes us the league champions. Regardless, you guys are champions anyway! We continue to get full effort from everyone on the team. Our wingers are winning the battles to "OWN THE PUCK". The defense are keeping the puck away from our net and are moving the puck up. Our goalie continues to shut down the other team and has allowed only 9 goals in for the playoffs - the lowest in the league by far!!!

Great win this weekend RED BULLS. This was a fantastic team effort where everyone contributed to the win. We saw some players really step up this week by making 2nd efforts to stop the puck from getting away from them. We have been preaching all year to "own the puck" and that is exactly what they did. Well done team. Cam Ainscough - 1 goal / 2 assists, Jack Hurstfield-Meyer, Cole Cheverie and Sam Shepherd all with goals as well. Lucas Dragowski fought hard to get Cole the puck for his goal and Marko Young just keeps shutting down the opposing team's top players. Well done guys! Strong ...

Tough loss this week with a short crew. It was a great opportunity for some of the boys who don't carry the puck as much to do so. They did a great job in getting the puck to the net but we came up just a bit short. It is always fantastic to see breakthroughs happen with the kids and we definitely noticed a couple of big ones.Although it was a loss on the scoreboard, we are happy to see a few wins for us on the ice. Keep it up RED BULLS!!!

Great team effort to pull off a win in the first game of the playoffs. Well done RED BULLS!!! Cole Cheverie started off the scoring with a great shot assisted by Josiah Whiteman and Blake Bakos. Jalen Fernandes put in the winning goal with assists from Sam Shepherd and Cam Ainscough. We had great goal tending by Sebastian Garcia and incredible defense from Marko Young who broke up several potential break-aways. The coaches asked for more out of their wingers and got it from Jack Hurstfield Meyer and Jalen. Great job and keep it going guys!!!!

The last game of the regular season was nothing short of a 'beaut'. We got a chance to see Jack Hurstfield-Meyer light up the scoreboard and performances from Josiah Whiteman and Miles Manio that were way above anything we have seen from them all season.

We have learned that the overall championship will be battled out among the 6 top teams. We will be a part of that group regardless of win or loss this upcoming weekend. Well done RED BULLS for a winning season and making it to the upper group in the playoffs. If anyone gets a chance to see the convenor STEVE TIMLECK, please let him know that he has done a great job this year with the league and his time and dedication has been above and beyond anything that I have ever seen from a convenor throughout all of my years in hockey. Another win puts us back in 2nd place in the league with only 1 game left until the playoffs. We have been pushing the kids to 'push their limits' and to give that '2nd effort' and Jake Maddox came through for us by giving his all and earning the big "C" for next week's contest. Big games by Blake Bakos, Cam Ainscough and Jalen Fernandes as well. Great Job RED BULLS!!!
