The Minor Peewee RS team had another very successful
weekend of hockey, winning SILVER at the Gene Harrington Rochester Cup
Challenge.
Heading into the final game, Minor Peewee RS was 3-1-0, preparing to face the team that defeated them in the round robin play. The team showed determination and tremendous team work; never giving up, despite being down 3-0 at the start of the second period. Tying it up late in the 3rd period, the players were focused on their play, with several scoring opportunities to try and take the lead. Great goaltending from our opposing team sent the game into OT.
Highlights of the weekend included cheering on our fellow Whitby teams that were so well represented in the tournament. HUGE thanks to the AA Midget team for cheering on our team during our final game and providing a pre-game pep talk! Congrats to them for going on to win gold!
