WMHA Pink in the Rink on October 29th
Submitted By Jaclyn Morden on Tuesday, October 18, 2016
WMHA is pleased to be hosting our Pink in the Rink event on Saturday October 29th.  We have over 20 of our team that are taking part in this great cause this year as a way to actively give back to our community.  For each game, the teams will have special pink jerseys to wear and have been asked to try to raise a minimum of $1,500 per team.

October is Cancer Awareness month and WMHA is hoping to raise over twenty thousand dollars in proceeds from this event to be donated to Hearth Place, a support centre in Durham Region who provide community support for people diagnosed with cancer and their families (see details below). 100% of all funds donated will donated.

Teams have been doing some amazing fundraisers since the early season to find ways to raise money for this great cause from bottle-drives to 50/50 draws to silent actions at the games.  This is a great way to show our support and encourage our kids to give back to the community so come on out and show your support and cheer on our teams on October 29th all day at Iroquois Park and McKinney Area – just look for the pink jerseys.

I would like to sincerely thank all the people that have helped plan this event, all the parents for their support and especially the players for taking the time to raise donations for a great cause right here in Durham Region.  It is these types of events that makes a great hockey association.

I hope to see you all on the 29th.

Sincerely,

Robert Keast

President, WMHA
