Brooms for Sticks: 2nd Annual Charity Bonspiel Raises $2000 for Whitby Minor Hockey

On Saturday, January 14th 50 curlers came out to the Whitby Curling Club to support the second annual ‘Brooms for Sticks Bonspiel’. A great evening was had by all and the event raised $2000 for Whitby Minor Hockey. The donations will be used to support players in need to subsidize the costs of the game.

Organizers Greg Williams and Mike Lucenti started the event in 2016 as a way to give back to the community and help ensure all kids have the same opportunities they did to play hockey competitively. To date Brooms for Sticks has contributed $3600 to Whitby Minor Hockey.
