Thank you for your support of the Steeves Family
Submitted By Jaclyn Morden on Tuesday, March 28, 2017
On House League Championship weekend at Iroquois Park Sports Complex on March 25 and 26, WMHA volunteers were on hand to collect donations for the Steeves Family.  The Steeves were travelling on their March Break vacation when tragedy struck, and they were involved in a car accident that claimed the life of hockey dad, Brett.

The cheques, cash and coin donated over the course of the weekend was counted up and deposited into the trust account that was set up for the family, totalling $6,338.95!

The WMHA is also writing a $500 cheque on behalf of the Association.  Additionally, there are some rep and house league teams who have, or plan to, donate directly to the trust account.  The total raised is growing by the day!

Thank you to the parents and players from the Minor Atom age group, particularly from Minor Atom Team 10 for working so hard all weekend to generate donations.  A special thanks to Melanie Burt, Minor Atom Convenor, for setting up the volunteer schedule for the two days, and keeping everyone on track.

If you missed the opportunity to donate, you can deposit funds into the trust account through TD Canada Trust. The account number is 38422 044 6059765. If you plan to support in this manner, please contact Katie Cowan at [email protected] to advise of deposit.
