Submitted By Jaclyn Morden on Tuesday, June 6, 2017
Whitby Minor Hockey Association (WMHA) is pleased to announce the Gloria Rints Memorial Scholarship which will be awarding  two (2) existing Whitby Minor Hockey players an opportunity for a $1,000 bursary to be used towards their post-secondary education.

This bursary is a result of the significant and ongoing support and generosity of Del Rints, who is  the driving force of the annual Silver Stick Tournament hosted by Whitby each year,  and husband of the late Gloria Rints who was a great activist in our community.

The Gloria Rints Memorial Scholarship is a $1,000.00 award given annually to a Whitby Minor Hockey Association player whom exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship, leadership, and commitment to the game while maintaining an academic standing.  The recipient of this award will use the funds to pursue post-secondary education.

This award will be for any Midget or Juvenile aged player planning to attend an institution for post-secondary education in the upcoming year.
