Tyke Neal (2011) - Important Announcement
Submitted By Jaclyn Morden on Friday, November 3, 2017
This is an important update for Sunday November 5th.  Our modified ice games will start for the 2011 Tyke Neal group.  WMHA has invested in boards that will divide the ice in half and will change the ice resurfacing procedure.  We are used to having an hour of ice, losing about the first 10 minutes for the Zamboni, and then being on the ice for the remaining 50 minutes.  The new boards will make the Zamboni procedure longer.  While the boards are in place, we will be limiting the ice resurfacing to every three hours.

As a result, you will notice that the times for this Sunday November 5th have changed.

It is important to note that the start time posted is the time for your players to step on the ice.

The new schedule is as follows:

7:15 am – 8:05 am

8:05 am – 8:55 am

8:55 am- 9:45 am

Board’s removed, full ice resurface

10:15 am – 11:05 am

11:05 am – 11:55 am

11:55 am – 12:45

Board’s removed, full ice resurface.

In addition to the time changes, we have an exciting addition to our programming.  As a result of the modified ice surface, there is now room to add an area for additional development concurrent with the games. Starting this weekend, we will be running a pilot project of additional CHIP development on what would have been the unused half of the ice.  This will result in more ice time and fun for our players.

WMHA is working hard to adapt to the changes brought forward by Hockey Canada.  Our efforts are geared to offer the best modified-ice program available.  We are always looking for ways to make things better and would appreciate receiving your feedback and suggestions.
