2020 Registration: Message from the President
Submitted By Jane Sedo on Monday, July 20, 2020
Dear WMHA Players, Parents, Coaches and Volunteers,

The WMHA Board of Directors and staff are eager to welcome all our members back to the game we love as soon as possible. We are monitoring the developments of the provincial government as parts of Ontario move into Stage 3 of the reopening process.  Today the provincial government announced that the Durham Region will advance to Stage 3 on Friday, July 24th.

As there seems to be some confusion and inaccurate information surrounding these updates and how it relates to hockey, please be clear that we are still following the OHF Return to Hockey Framework and as such we remain in Phase 2 / Stage 2 of that framework.

The OHF has not moved to Stage 3 yet but is working to fully understand how the changes will impact hockey moving to the next stage.

As per current OHF rules, hockey associations are still not allowed to accept registration monies for the 2020-2021 season.  As such, our registration remains closed.  Once we have the OHF go ahead and a clearer picture of our seasonal structure, we will be able to set our registration rate and move forward with the season.

Please visit our website and follow us on social media channels for the most up-to-date information. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to us at [email protected]

We hope that everyone remains safe and healthy.

Mark Elsenaar, President
