Congratulations Whitby Kings Atom HL Team 7!!
On Saturday January 10th the Whitby “Kings” Atom house league upper level team 7 travelled to Cayuga for a one day tournament. The boys represented Whitby proudly with three straight wins over teams from South Western Ontario.
In the first game Whitby lined up against a team from Pelham and it started out as a feeling out process. Our guys had numerous chances on the opposition net and finally struck 6 minutes into the game. The final score was 6 -1 over Pelham Tornadoes. In the second game they were matched up against a team from Stoney Creek and made quick work of them with a 11-0 romp. Off to the "A" side championship game where a team from Mount Brydges was coming off two very impressive wins and seemed to show a lot of speed.
Our guys picked up their game and controlled every aspect from the drop of the puck until the final whistle, skating away with a 9-1 win to loud cheers of joy from players and parents alike. Remarks from the conveyor during the medal ceremony of the tournament were "We've never seen that type of hockey for this age group, very impressive!" By the end of the tournament the boys made the coaches look like geniuses with the skills they displayed out on the ice from tape to tape passes, strong shooting and great defense not to mention the fantastic team spirit.
Way to go boys!!
