Minor Atom, 2014-2015, AA (Whitby Minor Hockey)

The Whitby Minor Atom AA team hit the ice, at Meadowcrest pond in Brooklin, this evening for its own version of the Winter Classic...lights, a little fire and hot chocolate for warmth, classic jersey's, and a love of Hockey...GAME ON...  A bit of fun before the big playoff run.  GO WHITBY!!! Great job Doc Olly and everyone who pitched in to make this a picture perfect night!!

The Whitby and Kingston Minor Atom AA teams set their rivalry aside for a few minutes on Saturday, December 13th, in support of children in need at Christmas.  In a pre-game ceremony, all of the players skated with an unwrapped toy and made a donation to the Whitby Fire Department and Durham Police Services annual toy drive. 

Whitby Minor Atom AA, wearing their Blue and Gold Fedora's took on London in style.  Going 2 and 2 on the weekend, loosing two close games to the ultimate finalists of this tournament, the boys played ever improving hockey.  They were a hit around the rink, smiling with their fancy Fedora's and at times...their moustaches. The boys are wearing Fedora's and dawning moustache's in recognition of Movember and noting, as Doc Olly says, "that we are wearing these as a reminder that men don't like to go to the doctor...and they should go and get checked up...".  Great effort boys....we are ...

Captain Jacob Wilson led the Minor Atom AA team on September 28 against Pickering.  Whitby was down 3 to 2 battling for the tying goal, but Pickering got an empty netter to win the game with a score of 4 to 2.  It was nice to see the boys working hard right to the bitter end.  Jacob stated that, as a leader, his job is to get teammates to listen and cooperate with each other and coaches. He would do so by setting an example on and off the ice.   Good job Jacob.  Also, thanks to Jacob Davenport and Deni Bergman, Assistants for this game. GO WHITBY GO!!!!

In recognition of a great cause, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Minor Atom AA boys laced up and taped up in PINK this weekend.  Pink must be their colour as they went on to win both their game on the weekend...off to a great month of October. Great Team Spirit!!! Lookin Good Boys...

Led by Captain Ethan Kopschinsky, the Whitby Minor Atom kicked off the season with a win on September 20, 2014, vs. Belleville Bulls with a score of 6 to 3.  Assistants for the game were Jacob Wilson and Jacob Davenport. 

The Whitby Minor Atom AA team would like to thank everyone who supported us through the purchase of 367 MUM's...enough to fill the street. A special thank-you to Kathy Walker and her group of transport truck "unloaders", including Jason Walker, Danielle Lloyd, Jen Kopschinsky, and Michelle Comeau. MUM's the word....
