Whitby Wildcats Minor Atom Select - Bradford Champs!!
Congratulations Minor Atom Selects for winning the2015 Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament this past weekend!!!.
The boys played very hard all weekend improving each game going undefeated through the round robin beating West Mall Lightning, 4-1, Unionville Jets 6-0 and Parkwood’s 5-2. The semi-final game between Whitby and Downsview was a tight battle with Whitby leading most of the way and scoring 2 empty netters winning 6-2.
The finals were now set between the two undefeated teams Whitby Wildcats and Leaside Flames. As expected the game was close from beginning to end. Whitby jumped out to 2-0 and 3-1 leads but Leaside pushed back tieing it up mid-way through the 3rd. After a time out to settle ourselves down, the boys pushed back scoring the game winner with just over 4 minutes to play winning the game 4-3!!!
