Team 10, Peewee, 2016-2017 (Whitby Minor Hockey)

The Thunder played another hard fought game, but came up against a hot goalie that could not be beat.  Although the Thunder's goalie, Devin, made some heroic saves to keep the game scoreless up to mid way thru the 3rd period, the shut out was finally broken when a player from Team 7 scored late in the third.  This goal turned out to be the only goal needed to beat the Thunder.  Though it was a tough loss, the team continues to impress as the players play more and more as a well oiled machine after each game.  Looking forward to the next game on Sunday ! 

The Thunder played more as a team  last weekend, but we were up against another very good team, who managed to beat us by one goal.  Although we did not win the game, we saw the team do a lot of really good things.  We saw them pass a little better, skate a little harder and had several good scoring chances.  There was a controversial call made by the referees after Jacob took a shot from the outside of the blue line on a delayed off side. 

Tough game today.  We had a strong start but then we seemed to become more disorganized as the game went on.    Although we suffered a tough loss, the team did lot of positive things.  We saw some good passing and we made some nice plays which gave use some good chances and good pressure in their end.  We saw some players attempting to set up some of the plays that we practiced on Saturday , which is nice to see.  Devin played a great game in net, making some great saves and keeping the game closer than it could have been.  Jaak got our only goal, by making sure he was at the right place ...
