Team Emma 'Sticking it to Cancer' Game
Thu Oct 22, 2015, 7:30 PM - 8:45 PM
Location: Pickering Recreation Complex-O'Brien
Hey Whitby Midget AAA!

Hope all is well!  For those of you who don't know me my name is Paul Brooks and I am the Head Coach of our DW BAA Team.(Durham West Bantam AAA).

I just wanted to reach out to see if your team would like to participate in something I am trying to put together for my niece.   Please see below what I am putting together and if you would like to participate it would be awesome!

My niece Emma Kenyon,  was just diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma (an aggressive bone cancer).  Emma has already had 5 cycles of chemo and will have a major surgery on October 22nd to remove her humerus (upper arm) and shoulder and have her leg bone (Fibula) put in its place.  Emma is only 6 years old and in the fight of her life. My sister Nicole and her husband Brad have 2 other children, Kylah and Cooper.  As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for all from every aspect of trying to run a family, work and run back and forth to Sick Kids.  Emma's mobility and use of her arm after this surgery is going to be minimal and to say the least life changing.

We are starting a Team Emma 'Sticking it to Cancer' campaign to help support Emma and my sister's family.  We are selling Team Emma 'Sticking it to Cancer' T-shirts for $15 each, both children and adults.  We also have Team Emma helmet stickers available for an individual or team donation of your choice.

Our BAA team has a game the same day of her surgery Thurs Oct 22nd 7:30pm @ O'Brien (Pickering Rec Center) vs Peterborough (There will be a 'Chuck a Puck' for some nice prizes at the end of the game.)

The goal would be to have as many kids and parents wear the  shirts in the stands to have a sea of Pink (for the ladies) and Light Blue (for the men) shirts.  My goal would be to get a picture of both teams by the glass after the game with the sea of shirts behind them.
