Novice, 2016-2017, Rep (Whitby Minor Hockey)

From the Coach: Congratulations to the Whitby Wildcats Novice Select Team! They finished the season by winning the Pickering Spring Thaw tournament with a 9-3 over a tough Port Perry team in the Championship. The boys played great and the parents were the best fans in the tourney cheering on the squad in the final with the moms dressed in the blue away jerseys. The coaches are very proud of this group who had a tremendous season finishing with a record of 25-3-2. Thanks to all the coaching staff, parents and of course the players for such a great experience! Go Wildcats!

What an amazing season for our Novice Select Boys!

Saturday evening the Novice Select team hosted the Port Perry Predators. Port Perry’s strong defense kept the boys challenged, but their determination paid off with a 2-0 win! What a great game to watch in the stands. Way to go boys!  The boys have played 4 games with an impressive record of 26 goals for and a whopping 0 goals scored against. Fantastic team effort boys, from our forwards, defense and goalies, looks like our coaching staff is developing you well!! Thanking all the families for coming out to watch the game and supporting the boys! Go Wildcats!!

Coming off a win of 2-0 in Uxbridge this past Tuesday evening, the boys traveled to North Humberland this past Sunday and pulled out yet another win!! Congrats on the 13-0 win boys, the best part is to see how you are all forming friendships and having fun! Next up, home game vs Port Perry this Saturday evening, let’s go Wildcats!!! This makes our Team record 3-0-0!!!!!

What a great weekend for the Novice Select Team at the Fall Fenzy Tournament in Centre Wellington! Undefeated going into the Finals our boys were pumped and excited. Despite a great effort in the finals against Kingston, we just couldn't get the Gold but left with the Silver and so proud of this great group of boys! You all represented Whitby well, way to go Wildcats!

Congratulations to the Novice Select Wildcats who opened their season with a 9-0 win over Uxbridge on Saturday night! The boys worked hard and learned a great deal already. A great start to a promising season; well done boys! Up next, off to Centre Wellington for our first tournament. GO WILDCATS!
