Black Hawks edge the Sharks in a close one.
The Black Hawks took flight Saturday against a very good Sharks
(team 3) team. The final score was 3 to 2 for the hawks but the battle was heart
pounding and nerve racking.
The sharks finished the first period with a 1-0 lead,
however early into the second Evan K equalled the score on some good old
fashion hard work. The assist came from Ben F on a nice little pass.
The battle continued until the third when Navan S. was able
to slip around some sharks for and a nice shot for the 2-1 lead.
With 5 minutes remaining in the game and the sharks pushing for the tie but Jack G was able to capitalize on a turnover in the Sharks end and scored on a one on one battle with a sharks goalie who was outstanding the entire game. The sharks were able to rally for a second goal and with the Hawks down a player with a penalty. Jayden L was able to shut the door to a 3-2 victory. An excellent game played by both teams.
A special acknowledgement to the Hawks defence, Navan S., Peter R., Ethan D. and Sebastian T. whom made all the difference in the outcome of the game. Way to go guys!
Sebastian T. was awarded the “Gold” jersey, excellent game Sebastian, and as usual Jayden L. afforded the Hawks the opportunity to win.
This will be the last game of 2014, although there are upcoming practices, the Hawks coaching staff would like to wish the Hawk players, parents and families a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
