Minor Atom, 2017-2018, Rep (Whitby Minor Hockey)

For the second time in as many tournaments, the Minor Atom Select Team brought home the gold medal in the WSMHA Ender Bender Tournament. The team went 3-0 in the round robin before meeting the Barrie Colts in the gold medal game. After opening the scoring only 3 minutes into the game, Barrie evened the score before the first period was out. A harrowing second period that saw no scoring prompted the coaching staff to rally the team and refocus their playmaking skills. Congratulations to the Minor Atom Select team for winning GOLD at the OCHL Heritage tournament! The team showed grit and determination to mount decisive wins which made all the difference in their quest for the gold. A back and forth final game against the NASC Falcons kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer sounded when our Wildcats were able to hoist the banner. Well done boys!
