We could not ask for a better way to get our season going with an incredible victory over the Kingston Canadiens to earn Whitby the CHAMPIONSHIP in our first tournament !!!. It was a hard fought game that had to go to a shootout...
This game was end to end action with absolutely amazing defensive play lead by Hudson Collis. Hudsdon along with defensive partner Aydan Hardy turned away several Kingston rushes and held them in check. Our defense were as solid as could be keeping the puck away from the slot and turning away a really tough Kingston offense. Sebastian Garcia posted his 4th shutout in 6 games looking like Dominek Hasek shutting down anything that came his way. He was amazing in the shootout as well.
Jesse Burke had a mesmerizing goal that completely stunned the Kingston goalie (along with most people in the crowd and on the benches) to start off the shootout. Chase Gallacher then put it away with his flawless shooting skills that earned him the game winning goal while Sebastian shut the door on the final 2 Kingston shooters.
Incredible tournament. Way to go TEAM!!!
