Eagles Soar To Victory
The No. 9 Novice Eagles earned their first win, soaring past Team 8, 3-1, on Saturday morning at Iroquois Park, in front of a sold out pad 3 crowd of 100...give or take.
Sophomore backstop Jacob G. showed us how all of his extra goalie training is paying off, making stellar stop after stellar stop. Our scoring came from a balanced attack starting with Matthew P. potting one on a rush up the boards and in off the wing in the first. That was countered a few minutes later by Team 8. Our second was from recently converted defenceman to centre Bradley J. on a goalmouth scramble in the 2nd period. The final marker, a tap in from the slot by Craig B., who continues with a hot hand, with his 3rd of this young season in the 3rd period. Our D was a brick wall and supported our offence with Ashton B. getting 2 assists. No player of game was announced and was officially awarded to the entire team for their hard work, never ending hustle and great sportsmanship.
Next week we travel to pad 2 to battle team 11.
