Team No. 7 made good on their scoring chances as they skated
to a 7-2 victory over the unlucky Eagles. The Eagles started the game well and
pressured the puck but could not find the back of the net as Team No. 7’s
goalie helped his team weather the early storm.
#15 Bramma scored 5 times for Team No 7 as the Eagles could only answer
with 2 goals of their own scored by Dylan
T. and Owen P. Both goals had a simple
approach to them; get the puck to the net and whack away at the rebounds.
Quinn P. made his debut in goal and did well in taking away the bottom of the net, which is a VERY successful strategy in this league. However, Team Manager, Denis Poropat, failed do his job and scout Team No 7’s “high shot” tendencies. Quinn had no chance on many of the goals, but it didn’t stop him from trying (which is the first hurdle to being a goalie) as he continues to develop his game between the pipes.
The Eagles effort was not reflective of the result, “We were on the puck and had chances but we just couldn’t finish today….that happens sometimes in the game of hockey….you can play well and still lose” said Coach Todd. Coach Todd continued to stress the compete level in his comments, “As long as these boys come to the rink with the positive attitude and effort they have displayed thus far then we should have success more often than not”
The Eagles try and get back in the win column against team No. 12 next Sunday Nov 9 @ 7:15am.
