Rockets Hang on To Edge Team #7
Whitby, ON - The Rockets battled hard and managed to hang on to record a 'w' this past Sunday in front of a raucous crowd of approximately 50 and change...Rocket players handled their new positions well and gave the coaching staff a look ahead to some pretty solid play in both ends of the ice. Team #7 played hard and the Rockets had to hold off a late offensive surge.
The line of Ciaran S, Trey O and Noah C used their speed to win battles to create chances and played hard in both ends of the ice. Kyle B, Jasmin A and Gavin G had a solid offensive game with Gavin potting his first tally with Jasmin A and Kyle also getting on the score sheet - they passed really well together and looked sharp looking out for each other. Jack G, Adam O and Damien D also had a solid outing creating pressure in the offensive zone and creating lots of chances. Grant D had a great game and made some key stops to keep the Rockets ahead.
The defence pairings of Reid O and Drew C looked really sharp playing together and generating some offence as well with Drew going end to end for his second tally of the season. Michael F and Riann C brought size to keep the net clear and showed some very good hockey sense clearing our zone. Some great two way hockey today. The hard skating at practice and passing work looks to be paying dividends for this Rocket team. The Rockets are becoming very gelled and we're heard cheering each other on today - great to see them becoming so close. Go Rockets!!!
