Rockets Play Solid at Home
Whitby ON - The Rockets took to the ice this morning in the late game of a triple header for the Novice 2 division. Rockets were in tough versus a very prepared Team 11 in a tight skating game.
Grant B had a stellar glove hand working today as he guarded the net and he needed it as Team 11 peppered high shots at him all game. It was a tight skating affair as both teams battled for ice position all game. For the second game in a row Rocket's defense hung tough and managed to clear the puck effectively. The defensive core of Jasmin A.; Michael F; Riann C.; Ciaran S. and Gavin G. battled hard to limit good scoring opportunities.
Some great performances came from Rocket forwards Noah C.; Drew C. and Gavin G as they banged at rebounds causing chaos in front of Team 11's goal. Jack G, Damien D.; Reid O, Trey O and Kyle B were awesome on the back check and managed to set up some prime scoring chances on Team 11's goal keeper. Team 11 pressed hard all game and the Rocket's were forced to push back to keep it tight.
The coaching staff was very proud of the Rockets today as they were putting what they learned in practice to work today. Positioning, passing and skating were all on display as well as a hard work ethic.
Rockets will continue to develop their skills next week with a 7 am practice (IPSC 1) Saturday and an 8 am game (IPSC 3) Sunday. Go Rockets!!!!
