PeeWee Blue, 2016-2017, A (Whitby Minor Hockey)

Congratulations to the Peewee A-Blue team on winning the Peter Mancuso Memorial tournament! There is no better way to describe this 2nd gold medal performance of the year other than it was earned by hard work, dedication, teamwork and pure sweat.  Being drawn into the most competitive round-robin division, the boys prevailed with outstanding performances against Ingersoll and the host Niagara Falls team before a tie with Cambridge in a thrilling end-to-end battle.  Whitby ranked 1st by having the least goals against (a very proud accomplishment as noted by the Coach Dan).   Semi-final ...

The Peewee A-Blue team began their 2016/2017 campaign with a Gold Medal victory at the Markham Waxers Early Bird Tournament. Scoring 20 goals and allowing only 7 against set the pace to winning 4 straight games after just narrowly dropping the tournament opener.    The final game was a beauty with high speed end-to-end action, tight checking and crisp passing all capped off by an overtime winner.   Congratulations boys on a well-played weekend.  No doubt a sign of future success.
