MINOR MIDGET A WILDCATS ARE OMHA CHAMPIONS
The Whitby
Wildcats Minor Midget A Team are OMHA Champions! The team won the OMHA
Championship in a very tight series over the Erie North Shore Comets.
In the 5 games played 3 of them went to overtime and the Championship winning game saw the Wildcats battle back to tie the game with 4 minutes remaining on a goal from Scott Reed followed up with the game winning goal with 44 seconds remaining from the stick of Ronan Somers. Jackson Eales-Harwood gave the many nervous parents some reason to breathe with the empty netter insurance goal with mere seconds remaining. In what for some is likely their last year of rep hockey it was the culmination of a very strong season. This Championship “red-capped” off a strong 75 game season with a record of 53-15-7 with the team never losing back to back games all season. The team roster included Ronan Somers, Paul Radke, Jackson Catto, Matthew Thompson, Jackson Moroz, Jackson Eales-Harwood, Keegan Crilly, Michael Low, Mateo Villa, Kam McDonald, Jesse Neal, Mathew Winter, Connor Platt, Zack Bell, Isaac Cromb and Scott Reed. The team had ongoing player roster support through the season from Jake Evans, Jacob Elliott, Quinn Moffat, Nick Oosterholt, Sam Kluzynski and Connor Chevrette. Team Coaches were Jack Crilly, Phil Thompson, John Catto, Gerry Platt and Antonio Villa.
