Minor Atom Blue, 2017-2018, A (Whitby Minor Hockey)

The Whitby Wildcats Minor Atom A Blue team headed into this season with a lot of promise, they always had the hopes of repeating as Division Champions. They understood, however, that it was going to take a lot of hard work, dedication and determination to once again achieve this goal. Well we are all very proud to say that their hopes and dreams came true over this past weekend.

The Whitby Wildcats Minor Atom “A” Blue team headed into the Silver Stick qualifying tournament this past weekend riding a high, the boys have been playing some great hockey as of late and they were looking for that to continue going into the weekends festivities.  This weekend was going to be tough to win or even come out of our division but the boys were going to give it there all.  

The Minor Atom “A” Blue hockey team headed up the QEW to defend their title in Niagara Falls at the Peter Mancuso Challenge over this past weekend. In game 1 the boys were faced playing a familiar team in Quinte but even though the game was early Friday morning the boys were able to come out on top 3 – 0. Game 2 the boys didn’t know what to expect with our next opponent as we played the Vaughn Wolverines, we have never seen them before but the boys were up for the challenge giving up only 3 shots on goal and winning the contest 10 – 0.
