Whitby Atom A White Rock!
The Whitby Atom A White team took to the
highways for their first tournament of the Season, appearing in the Rock and
Roll cup in Cleveland, Ohio in early September.
Despite being road weary, the boys posted a shutout win over the Kent, Ohio cyclones on Friday and followed it up with two other shutout wins over the Steel City Renegades (Pittsburgh) and the Cleveland Barons on Saturday. Despite being early in the season, the boys were humming on all cylinders on both sides of the puck. Having earned a bye to the final game on Sunday morning, Whitby once again met the Cleveland Barons for an 11:40am winner take all game.The Barons, fresh off their semi final win came at Whitby strong, and led 2-0 early into the game. Teamwork and perseverance kicked in, and the boys rallied to take the lead midway through the second period, ultimately winning the Gold 5-3 when the final buzzer sounded. The win was a total team effort, with fantastic determination from all of the boys.
